Was playing my home course Earth at Jumeirah Golf Estates
As per the tradition you get a flag, a certificate and you’re name to be posted.
Typically thereafter you’ll lose a fortune at the bar but that one was closed due to covid restrictions.

I always thought the hype about hole in one overrated. But now that I’ve scored one I must say it’s underrated haha. From 203 yards out that hole is pretty small

Distance from t box to the flag was203 yards And trust me, I’ve had days were I needed 10 as well haha

It only happened onece to me many many years ago but it was an unofficial course with a friend and I got no certificate. And as for me contrary to great players it was probably 10% skills and 90% luck. Very impressed by your performance, huge congrats!

But any hole in one is to a large extend luck Yet it feels great having done it once haha
Probably partly yes but...
Surprisingly it happens to best players much more often thatn it happened to me (when I was playing). So yes some luck is needed for sure but skill is key to make the luck work .

Lucas Bols (yes our famous genever) had a global Hole in One community. All you had to do to become a member is to forward the certificate plus drink a bottle of “korenwijn”. And if I’m not mistaken that club still exists and if so I’ll join them asap ...

When I’m playing golf I generally don’t wear a watch. Sometimes I forget to take it off but after few strikes it’s noticeable and I take it off quickly. Unless I’m wearing my Rolex Datejust or my IWC pilot watch (time only). Those two are indestructible. ...
