Has anyone ever played "Fischer Random Chess"?

Mar 01, 2021,17:09 PM

The game is a variation of chess invented by Bobby Fischer and is also known as Chess960 because there are 960 random starting positions.  The set-up is goverend by a set of rules, a write up and description can be found in Wikipedia, under the title "Fischer random chess".

There is a short introduction to the variation given in the below attached video interview with Bobby Fischer.  As mention by Fischer, the game demands more creativity than the classic version (see attached video).

Any chess players out there?

Casey

I use to subscribe to a newspaper that had end-game puzzles... black to mate in three etc. That was always fun and I could play against myself. Today I enjoy the challenge of a difficult sudoku puzzle ; ) Casey
