Friday Stay-cation

The tourists seem to be taking over our city on the weekends, so we decided to have a day out today.
It was promising to be sunny, so I strapped on a Seiko Solar watch that needed charging. We walked around the bay a bit, did silly things...

A Whale Watching boat cruised by, and we talked about back in 2013 when I saw 1067 whales, all less than 10 miles from my house.

I wrote a book about the adventure, and made a few dozen postings.

(I think maybe the book is still on the Apple bookstore... IT IS! )

As we walked away from the water we saw a Chrysler 300 with wheels I had never seen before, so had to take a photo.

We were soon back in the car, and to our great surprise were blasted by a giant helicopter that was landing right on the lawn ahead, and we decided to take a look.

The chopper turned out to be from the Fire Department, doing a training session, and they picked up a couple firefighters off the grass circle here. I dropped off my camera-woman and drove around to check it out.

It was amazingly loud and sat there idling (blades rotating) for about 5 minutes, then lifted off. It was quieter lifting up than it was when idling.

It seemed crazy to be almost underneath it.

Fun though.

We did a bit of bird-watching near the bay, made a quick Costco stop, and headed home.

I decided a wrist shot was mandatory, so went out to capture the solar watch in the sunshine.

Then I noticed my tame owl watching me. Can you see him?

He gave me the stink-eye (like a wife watching her husband photograph his wrist for the 1000th time).

The owl's lady friend wasn't interested. She was sitting about 30 feet away and refused to look our way. Maybe I had interrupted something happening up in the tree?

I can take a hint. I put the camera down and went back inside to finish this post.

Happy Friday it's Five o'Clock here.

I have such a thing for 2CV's - thanks for sharing some great shots of a great day. PS: respect for the Owl's patience...

Unique picture

Thanks for sharing. I especially like the wheels on that Chrysler.

I like the Crystler very much

Albeit in the part of the world i life, the petrol prices are too high to drive a Crystler 300. So it is smarter to drive Honda. Or an Acura. But Honda do not have Acura where i life. The 2CV is not rare where i life, albeit my taste for American and Asia...

Again a wonderful post from you both.
