TimeOut

Agreed :D

I saw it yesterday and genuinely loved it. Not that the story is particularly original, it's a decent enough attempt at making something qualitative out of the premise of the first film, but the whole experience was genuinely one of a kind - especially in the IMAX format. What will stick with me long-term is the visually and aurally gripping manner in which they filmed the actual pilots doing some of the most amazing flying ever done - a visceral treat for any transportation/flight enthusiast.... Cruise did as committed and fine a job as the actor/director (yes, I don't buy it for a second that he allowed Joseph Kosinski to tell him what to do on his 'pet project') given his extreme devotion to this film, but again, the true value here to me is the aviation component itself. There's very little to no acting needed when you are being flown in the back of a fighter jet and your whole body is getting 'beaten-up' by the basic rules of physics wink. Thanks for commenting, cheers, Filip
