A tough balancing act
As a car and former bike enthusiast I can share some of excitement, at the same time having lived near a race track for many years and having seen my share of third-party fatal accidents and screaming engines tearing the peace of leisurely weekends, I can also relate to some of the residents concerns. Unfortunately the myriad of youtube & SNS users will probably not contribute favorably to the balance. As someone who used to do a fair amount of track time and getting older I feel that I have become a bigger supporter of heavy handed crackdown. I hope this will turn out to be ok for both sides.
The "Snake is back.....the rebirth of L.A. famous Mulholland Highway..

Drove thru that very spot maybe thirty-five years ago . . .
. . . and saw a 'For Sale' sign on one of the pads at the upper right of the photo. Can't recall the price exactly, but it was in the low six-figure range. Of course, my bank account was in the low three-figure range at the time. 🤑

I drive on this and other roads of its type that connect to Mulholland, Malibu Canyon Road, Kanan Road, Topanga and others...
and I always pull over in my Jeep and let a few Porsche, Lambo, some supercars etc etc go past me as they get to run their cars through their paces. Motorcycles as well. And on weekends there are literally dozens of them cruising the backroads. At some of...
