I have an aversion of recent MBs in general...this said, the 1912 is indeed quite special and somehow, they managed to persuade management to do a nearly one-off nib design: more pliable, more finesse, sweeter, yet not-out-of-control writing experience. The pocket size pen and unique retractable nib are all icing on the cake. In this sense, the out of reach bigger models of the 1912 possess all the bragging rights but nearly none of the features that make the smaller 1912 extremely desirable. The only drawback is the lack of a suitable pen case (which I found a solution a long while ago in Itoya Ginza). I consider the 1912, the Martele, and the calligraphy 149, in no special order, as the most outstanding MB FPs in post-2000s.
