+1 on your suggestion Thomas; one of the best dining venues during our honeymoon.
Allow me to also recommend the sea bass--it lost the battle with the chocolate frog.

The have this crunch/snap to the hot dog casing that makes it really good. They have burgers and tamales and stuff but the dogs are the reason why they have gotten so famous. They opened in Vegas and other places in L.A> but the original on La Brea is ...
Oh man oh man
By: Esharp : October 24th, 2014-09:43
Those dawgs! You are a very lucky man. Those are almost my version of hot dog heaven. I'm a Coney Island kinda guy: dog, chili, raw chopped onions, mustard (Guldens spicy brown), pickle relish.: nothing else, no cheese, no ketchup. Side of fries, and a Dr...

By: DRMW : October 24th, 2014-10:04
I like Nathan's, they do a good dog. Here in L.A. we have Pink's, their hot dog has a great chili that isn't greasy and just the right spices. Usually a long line all day every day but IMO worth the wait. It's been a foodie landmark around here so if you ...

Oh yes!!! BLT Burger in Harbour City is pretty satisfying. Stepping up a notch, I have no complaints about Beef & Liberty or the Butchers Club Burgers either. Unfortunately I don't think any of them does hot dogs though. Maybe I should give up the day job...
Bone marrow!
By: Esharp : October 25th, 2014-22:30
So I checked out their menu online and there's a whole section on bone marrow. Awesome, if artery-clogging. Could this be a replacement for St John now that I've left London? Thanks - I've been missing a sort of French grand café kinda place, a sort of HK...

Forgot to mention that at Lawry's you MUST get their Ice Cream sundae. They use CC Brown's Hot Fudge (it's old school Hollywood stuff) with warm peanuts and whip cream. Here's the half portion: :) -MW ...

I barely finish the Lawry's cut and one side and once in a while can make room for dessert. I see a lot of people polish off an appetizer, the larger Diamond Jim Brady cut plus a lobster tail then do dessert. A good friend of mine has no problem chowing d...
I hear you: last night...
By: Esharp : October 26th, 2014-05:09
I hear you: last night Mrs E and I had 6 oysters and shared a single smallish steak between the two of us for dinner, and that was plenty! I haven't been to the local Lawry's, although I did check out the menu yesterday - it didn't list desserts, nor does...

HK style steak is served on a sizzling hot plate and they douse it with a gravy/sauce on top. Boston (probably the most well known for HK-style steak), Sammy's Kitchen, Anna, Tai Ping Goon, and Goldfinch to name a few. It's more of a old school touristy t...
Yum!

I enjoy the fragrance of sausages. There's a restaurant in Los Angeles called Wurstkuche that sells more-or-less only sausages and beer. That's what I'm currently thinking about when I see your mouthwatering photo. Oh, even the best airplane food is not a...
