And this is a Porcelain Dial......NOT a 3rd rate ENAMEL Dial!!!
Why don't watch collectors know the difference between Porcelain and Enamel?
Enamel is glorified PAINT!!!!!
Using a metal base of copper, bronze, silver or gold...paint is mixed with silica (sand), laid on the metal base and baked to 800 deg C in an oven. The end result is a hardened enamel PAINT that was the standard used to paint cars in the 50s and 60s.
Cheap as chips and riddled with serious faults which is why the technique was banished from cars in favour of Prime Coat, Base Colour and Clear Coat using Acrylics or Epoxies.
Enamel is eaten from the outside and because of the oxidation of the metal base.....it is eaten from the UNDERSIDE!!!!
Porcelain on the other hand requires no base metal, has clay added to the silica/paint mix and is then fired at 1500 deg C until it is fully VITRIFIED.
In other words....it becomes a Man-Made Material.
Give me a sharp nail and I will scratch off every bit of the glorified PAINT on your enamel dials.....but the colour and hardness of the porcelain goes all the way through!
Europe doesn't DO Porcelain...
It is a Chinese invention and an Asian tradition.
Enamel watch dials are a 17th Century invention which have been the greatest con-trick perpetrated by the Europeans for the last 100 years.....
Ohh how I love my 'tropical' rusted and eaten away Rolex watch dials......π

as a journey, not necessarily a destination. These examples are certainly doing very well on this epic journey.
Makes sense to me.

The Credor is very very very good. But there is no true perfection among the things of this world that come to be and pass away. Only in the Platonic realm, of which our dear Fab is an initiate, do we find actual perfection!
I can follow your logic.....

That's why maths, science and philosophy also appealed to me....I hoped you would like the Credor my friend π Didn't know what you felt about Spring-Drive though....?

Porcelain toilets and basins are an entirely different process....
By: Halcro : July 2nd, 2022-05:01
But porcelain toilets and basins made 100 years ago, still look today like they did when leaving the factory..... Remember the old enamelled steel bathtubs? Baths are too big and 'flat-sided' to successfully make in porcelain..,..but as soon as acrylic be...

If something is wrong i start to take care. Especially when a watch do not hold time. When a watch speaks to me, but the watch brand is not popular in the watch community. The Credor is in some way also an overlooked watch. Strangely i place Credor in the...
