Rolex

We are getting away from Mark's question...

We buy or collect things for their beauty, originality, uniqueness, functionality and many other reasons.

Mark asked which Rolex would be good for his use.....he now has a very interisting and active set of opinions...not so much giving advice about which Rolex to buy.,..... but if a Rolex is worth buying,

We all value different objects by a different "Measure" and it is nice to have a nice new XYZ watch on our wrist because it suits one or more of our "Measures"

But everything has a place in the scheme of things and while that XYZ might not meet the ethical “Measure” of someone it does not mean it is not a good product.

If there was a nuclear war coming and you were going bush with no idea when you would come back to civilization again......and could only take one watch.....and had to choose a watch that would take everything and anything....which one would you take?

I love my Breguets, but I would kiss them goodbye.....say, "Sorry Guys...., you are beautiful, but not up to this job" ...and as I wiped a tear from my eye.......I would grab my Rolex Daytona knowing that it would do everything I asked of it in any conditions.

Kindest regards to all,

Jack.
