Tough Choice!

I'll start by saying I dislike roman numerals, so none of the ones offered...

These are readily available, so would step back, configure the one you want and then order accordingly.

I have a white gold Rolex, but some buyers want everyone to know their watch is gold, which isn't always the case in white gold. I appreciate the DD is only available in precious metal, but depends on your own opinion.

The DD40 looks the nuts in any gold configuration, but I prefer the yellow gold and one day expect to buy one.

Today I visited our local AD and they just received a shipment from Rolex. But whatever steel models they had received, they were all sold within a couple of hours and when I walked in to the store it was packed. They only had a tow tone skydweller, a whi...

TBH i like YG in theory but

If you’re a fan of colored gold then YG. Best, Mahesh.,

the one trouble I’ve with 36mm is...

the bracelet has not been upgraded with the ceramic pins so the longevity is questionable. Best, Mahesh.,

i think in mid-term

 By: mahesh : February 11th, 2019-00:11
if we compare between the 40mm vs 36mm - then the bracelet of 40 will do better... i'm highly doubtful Rolex will upgrade the 36mm bracelet but with Rolex you never know !

Ai, ai, ai...my wife just told me

By: One day just one watch : February 10th, 2019-10:06
she would leave me if i would choose the yellow one. She prefers the white gold version and i am leaning towards the yellow gold. Maybe a compromise and go for the everose...

In this case - listen to your wife ;-)

BTW, I think she is right about the the white. You should see it on a summer day in The sunshine - it will make you smile from ear to ear.

Definitely White Gold [nt]

I prefer another dial too, the stripe motif on the WG

Or the diagonal motif on the YG. The Roman numerals just don’t do it for me.

WG, green dial. [nt]

Strange, not one single vote goes out to the rose gold one

By: One day just one watch : February 10th, 2019-13:26
And that is strange considering they told me in the store today that the rose gold with the olive green dial is their biggest seller..., maybe the Dutch have a different taste...

Yellow gold [nt]

I think

odds are pretty good that Rolex will upgrade the 36mm Day-Date with the new movement and bracelet this year. Maybe wait to after Basel to make any decisions. The new PMs in 36mm should not be hard to obtain soon after the fair.

To answer your question

I am a big fan of sticks with lume and do not like the "Broken Romans" at all, so I would pass on those three. If you want the 40, get the yellow gold with the champagne stick dial.

My vote goes to

White Gold Green Dial Cheers

And to complicate things...

Would you consider trading (and paying a little extra) a Patek Philippe Aquanaut for a Day Date?

RG green for me.

WG green looks too plain. YG - it has to be in White Dial for me, I agree on the comment about “Broken Romans” which is a pity that Rolex rolled out in this model. I’m still a big fan of the stick index with lume.
