As probably some of you knows, I'm not a lover of modern Rolex.
Basically for the shape of the case, for the SLuminova dial...
I'm not even a huge fan of the polished band.
BUT…
...in this days I'm thinking hard about the only "in production" Rolex that fascinates me.
Since I am a great lover of the ref.1019, and this week Nicolas and Patrice have contributed to my moral annihilation (LOL) showing several times this watch…(purchase that at the moment i can't afford) I'm thinking of buying a 116400, the new Milgauss.
Rolex marketing victim, yes i am
I appreciate the caliber 3131, the only one of its kind for Rolex.
I really like the black version, no GV, very simple, sporty but also stylish.
Technically interesting, excellent for my work.
What does not convince me 100% is probably the thickness and (maybe) the too generous case.
It's not my concern that is can be charming on a shirt (afterall i'm a sea-dweller dude) but I'm afraid it's a bit clumsy; I would have preferred a slightly more low case and a 38mm diameter…yes a 1019, of course
Now it's up to you guys…what do you think?
Any suggestions?
Pics and personal experiences are very much appreciated.
Thank you very much gents.
chris te salutant.
