It went to Rolex, came back looking new, and I've kept it that way. On another note, I was annoyed with the servicing - I asked for the lugs not to be polished, but they did it unfortunately. No more sharp edged lugs 
I'm sure it was the AD that didn't pass on the specific message to Rolex.
