that I can't explain. I bought a month ago a 5513 from 1988. This week I picked up during my business trip a 5513 from 1972. Both watches are with boxes and papers. I am admiring my new "catch" unlike nothing else. The doomed glass, patinated indexes and ...
that you had a good laugh! Anyhow, it is really so that not even a nice Patek or Breguet give similar pleasure that a simple older Rolex that has aged with dignity. Best, Kari
I can save your Sunday and open the issue a bit: - 5513 gilt - 5512 - 1680 (on Monday) - 168000 (reserved) And then all the 100 meters Submariners. I am trying to avoid the GMT and Sea-Dweller but just saw in London a "Double Red" that is very very hard t...
But, my friend, two things. 1/ It will be very dangerous to even swim with these vintages. 2/ The Seadweller is a Submariner! As for the GMTs... Well one thing after another... ;) Best, Nicolas
The first issue I leave to RSC. The second; that's what I'm afraid of! At the moment I'm mostly interested in Submariners without date. That makes life a bit easier. I don't know why I went and bought the 1680... Too nice perhaps? Best, Kari
Rolex 6200 / 6204 / 6205 / 5508 / 6536 / 5510 / 6538... Without mentionning the Tudors 7922 / 7924. They are all no date! You will suffer... :) Best, Nicolas.
the clean lines , seeminly simplicity of the dial, and beautiful shape . Simply perfect! I have a modern ceramic sub, but when I find a nice example of ref 5513 like yours, would not hesitate to trade it in. Cheers, Ken
....I know exactly what you mean. Vintage Rolex has "something" that NO other manufacture has. The DNA of the Submariner has become iconic. It transitions across both time and generations. It works for the old man as well as the young teenager. It has "so...
I am afraid even trying a Sea-Dweller. I know that my 8 inches wrist could probably manage it but I keep saying to myself: "Kari, you are just a Divemaster, not a technical diver. You are not allowed to go deeper than 40 meters and thus, you do not need a...
I'm visiting London nowadays very often because I established an office there from where we operate our tanker fleet. Now, if you see a very nice 1665 with papers, please drop me a PM. I will go and try that on my wrist and try to forget my credit card to...
....I have a superb 1665 Rail dial with box and papers....you can't buy it (LoL), but I will let you try it on to get a feel! And then you can try on a 1665 Mk1......just to get a feel.
it's a deal. I will try "just to get the feel". Because I just came from London and next destinations are Singapore (business) and Italy (new Rolex), I will be only in a month back to London. Let's try to have a coffee or beer somewhere close to Oxford St...
Be very careful of the 1665. The one i got recently with the rail dial has caused me to forget about searching for a 6263 (at least for a while). What a piece... My favorite vintage one. Baron is to blame for this.
