Today I share with you one of my most favorite watches in the small collection.

In the mid 2000s, I had a very involved vintage watch collecting phase. (Luckily the prices of such were still affordable then) and I really appreciated vintage Rolex.

One of my absolute grail watches was a 6538 sub, yet I knew even at the prices before; that I will never be able to acquire one.

Then I saw this watch on one of the forums about 5 or so years ago. Back then, Rolex modding companies were not as popular yet, and Project X was one of the first. All in all, it took me 3 years to find this watch; from the time I saw it in the forums, until the time it landed on my wrist.

Of all my watches, this is probably the one that I will never, ever sell. Have a great week purists.

You may find some mixed reactions here on this, and mods in general. But I’m all for mods, and this is a cool watch.

With the crazy vintage prices, which both makes it hard to acquire the watch and even if you do make the purchase perhaps difficult to feel comfortable wearing the watch given the rarity and value, I think these watches fill a niche.
