You covered all the points. I was curious to see if there was any identifying marks for Riccardi watches as there was nothing on the dial. Sure enough the serial on the lug was that identifier. Enjoy that beauty. Best Bill

I have heard of the Serpico y Laino dials before and, obviously, the Tiffany connection. But I have never heard of this unique jeweler connection until now. That is what is so great about Rolex and this forum- you learn some new intricate detail each day!... 

I would love to fall on a 1675 of this kind! Tell me, did you ever see a 1680 Red with a 1966 case back? I was pretty sure they strarted in 1967... But with Rolex, we never know. Superb reading, my friend. And great watch, too! Best, Nicolas

the earliest caseback I have seen is actually dated 69. Be curious to see how early people have seen for sure.

Hello Baron, your post reveals the special relationship between Rolex and Ricciardi, which make them almost unique. They use to have the records of every piece they sold. Many years ago, I owned a GMT (1675) from Ricciardi but at that time I was not aware... 

... but don´t worry my friend, everybody makes a wrong move sometimes. I do regret many things in my own life! I wish some day you´ll cross your path with another Ricciardi and catch it... or who knows, may be your own! Thank you for sharing that experien...

just a couple of details to enphasize : 1) case in the 2.29 range has been produced in 1970 2) " white " 1680 in my opinion not before very late 1975 or early 1976 ( anyway with case with numbers well above 4.0 ).
