....My reason is simple...I think Tudor have done a phenomenal job at releasing great tributes to their vintage history. Rolex, on the other hand, as most vintage collectors will moan, have paid very little attention to providing tributes. I can only imagine how popular a Rolex tribute to the 6200 might be...it would be a staggering success. Yet, we don't see Rolex going down this path. JLC, Tudor....even Patek recognise the commercial angle of paying great attention to their historic and iconic marvels. Rolex just does not seem to have understood the importance of doing so....in this sense, I wanted to keep this thread strictly to Rolex as I wanted to see what people thought of modern Rolex. I think the idea of discussing Rolex and tributes is very rich for debate...and it will come for sure.....an argued analysis on why it makes more sense for Rolex to produce more tributes is one that I know many people have views on....
