My thoughts of the BB range
Jul 02, 2020,08:38 AM
I like the BB range for what it represents. Good value for a beautiful tool luxury watch.
I’m about to bring my BB for a dive this week to see the sea dragons in Sydney. Stay tuned for the post next week.
As an avid diver, I read that the aluminium crown tube is at risk of galvanic reactions when water pools there, causing a galvanic reaction between steel and aluminium. That’s why I always use a toothbrush to clean that area after swimming or diving. I also wished it had a dive extension to the metal bracelet, rather than canvas or OEM straps from Rubberb or Everest.
I think, after the dive this weekend, I will retire the BB to daily mundane things such as gardening or desk diving. It’s too heart-wrecking to see a design flaw fester into the beautiful piece I have.
On the flip side, I’m eyeing an alternative diver to take over the dive tasks - the Pelagos, or 42mm PAM submersible or Omega seamaster.
Such is life. Every rose has it’s thorn. Every watch has it’s design suited for one, at the expense of another.
