Another recent score to share , this 5508 was put away in a vault in the dark the radium caused the dial and bezel to change color. Also not how to the lume plots changed grey . The watch is from 58 the bezel is from early 60 s. ...  

A question borne of ignorance: what is the handling / storage protocol for a radium dialed piece? Are the “concerns” valid or exaggerated?

If I I am correct the Atomic commission of the USA . Set rules on radium dials in the early 60s . Due to lots of watchmakers falling ill. . . So what you see on early 1960s Rolex they changed from radium to tritium . . . That is also the period when the u... 

But I like color changed dials , sort of look for them. When it is due to radium the dial turns olive green. And on black it looks brown. But on white background you see clearly green. Or sometimes they have a red glow hard to explain . Added a picture of...  

If anyone would give you a bottle that contains radium, would you take it home?

Did you measure the strength or just guessing. With a dial that has no pitting may not be the material you think. Let me know. Bill
