My AD actually presented me the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in Platinum (Ref. M126506-0001) last Friday – but with the standard indices instead of the baguette ones I had originally ordered about a year and a half ago. Somehow there was a mix-up.




Now I’m debating whether to take this one or place a new order and wait for the baguette version again. But the more I think about it, the more I come to the same conclusion as you…

A) The price difference is certainly something to consider.
B) And more importantly, I’m starting to feel that the classic indices might actually be the better choice after all.

Especially when it comes to legibility in less-than-ideal lighting conditions – thanks to the lume on the indices.

And perhaps the overall look is a bit more stealthy and understated. Well, as understated as this piece can be… 😎

I think Patek got exactly what they wanted with their new release. The controversy, conversations and presses, good or bad (relatively) is important. I am very sure the steel and Pt version will sell well with long waitlists. It is very similar to Lange’s...

with a very, very good taste! I love here especially the Lange 1 25th Anniversary moonphase, but the orher two competitors are also big guns! Bravo, well done!!!

Hindsight is always 20/20....now I wish I should have get a few more 25th anniversary models while they were still available to me...anyways, moving on.

The Lange 1 speaks to me more than the two others, but I like the color scheme of the Daytona.

Cheers to you, Doc....I am secretly drooling over your black 126500LN, but I still will resist asking my AD for it.

I think for previous gen 116500LN, the White dial looks better than Black but for this new one, the Black is stunning. Congrats again!

Gorgeous set! Those three would do you well for any occasion.

Will say. I like the direction of this new PP line. And I am looking forward to the release of smaller sizes on straps.

It is a funny cycle, like life...70s/80s funky and loose, baggy pants seems coming back?

Nice to see squarish, rectangular watches in focus now, hopefully because they are typically not as popular. I will not decline if I get the call for 5821/1A but I know it's impossible, so be it.

Both are good for the environment! Patek's watch is selling out. Everybody is calling their jewelry store to say, "I want one" or "put me on the list." And one person even (half jokingly) said, "take my first born or second born as payment!" Even if today... 

Yes, I am still driving my i8 daily, and the style is still ahead of many cars on the road around my area.

No doubt about the popularity of the new PP. We know the FOMO mentality nowadays. I honestly hope we don't have to beg for watches or other luxury items....funny world.
