I was 'wowed' by this model when I first saw it

The contrast between the gold, matte black, and black bezel... rose hands... etc... and the unique bracelet... whew! SEX-AY!

The new bezel takes care of the really serious problem of the current bezel--its a scratch magnet and the raised numerals really get killed if you wear the watch the way you would a Sub or a GMT...

But like Nicolas suggested, I told myself, wait, wait, wait.

And after a period of weeks, it did wear off.

Now I see this model as absolutely smashing! But it is really not too much more than a dressed up Sub.

True, so is the current Plat/Steel model... but that one --while I always really liked it--never hit me as strongly as this one--and is not $24K.

I disagree with the gent who suggested this is some sort of Hublot (God forbid) volley, or something trying to contend with AP...

Rolex is Rolex. To me, it's just evolving within its very, very conservative bounds.

But... will the new CEO do something daring? We shall see.

So. Final word on this YM. Absolutely LOVE IT!

But don't have to have it. Somehow, it faded in 'wow' for me...

I'm waiting for new Daytonas... and have a probably fatal weakness for plat Day Date 40.

The writing is not consistent. you have a gilt rolex and the rest of the wording is white.
