What is your "everyday" Rolex?
By: Baron - Mr Red : May 7th, 2015-05:35
To carry on a theme from Kari, what is your everyday Rolex? I think Bill and I both err towards the Sea-Dweller 16660, a watch that spans between vintage and modern. Tough, reliable and every inch a Rolex. I am guessing that much depends join whether one ...
I alternate

between a tritium 16600 and a white dial 116400 because after one week of ownership, a brand new Tudor 25500's crown broke cleanly off the stem during a date change.

Another lovely VR from you, Joe. I'm moving into VR world well and truly, and would love to get a ref 16660 one day. Any sound advice would be greatly appreciated. One thing for sure, " Always buy the seller ". Cheers, Ken ...

Hello Joe! May I join the thread with my present everyday Rolex?...

... Though I like to switch my everyday watch a few times each week, one of my most used Rolex is also a "transitional" Submariner, a model 5513 last series (this one was made in 1986) which reunites features from both old and new versions of the inmortal...
a lovely mix between vintage and modern.....
By: Baron - Mr Red : May 7th, 2015-12:35
.....I think so many on this forum love the vintage play but recognise that a watch that is 30yrs old carries some collateral damage risk. Finding a perfect mix between vintage and modern is a nice theme....and your 5513 hits that spot perfectly. Let me a...

... WG circled indexes in my Rolex, but this one I was hooked by the patina in these indexes and the general confition (almost unworn) of this watch. Incidentally, I bought it together with a "cousin" made in same year of 1986 which I feel you´ll like too...

A very mundane Sub LV
By: COUNT DE MONET : May 8th, 2015-12:19
The pun here is in mundane: which is profane in English but the nearly same sounding and looking German word "mondän" means glamorous. It depends on when and where you wear a Sub LV to call it mundane, I suppose. Regarding the Sea Dweller: the old one was...

My everyday Rolex is the BLNR
By: passetemps : May 14th, 2015-08:16
I cannot think of a more versatile watch. I love the GMT because it is thinner than the Sub. Its horns are also thinner. I love the GMT because it is a cool complication. I love the GMT because i like to know the time in Paris and in Vancouver. I love the...
