I concur with the choice of Milgauss. GV or white dial would be a good choice regardless. Another favorite of mine is those racing dial from the WG Daytona. It would be perfect if we can get the SS model and purchase these dial separately and swap them 
If you don't mind the bling side of things, The "Hulk" Sub date with green ceramic bezel or blue dial TOG with red second hand. My wrist can't handle the hulk so that's no go for me

Certainly fits the criteria for an everyday wear... It got the look of the classic submariner, yet it has a useful GMT function on it... I really like the color... And yes I have the same complain as you... I don't like the polished bracelet on the modern...

Green crystal Milgauss. Tried one on recently at a Rolex boutique and its been hard to get out of my head. After that, the new Explorer. Even with the short minute hand, a great watch and a perfect case size.
