Rolex

It took me a long time to get my first Rolex - specifically, I purchased a 36 mm Rolex Explorer 124270 to celebrate the birth of my son last year. I engraved his initials on the case back, and plan to give it to him some day. Before purchasing a Rolex, I ...

I’m waiting for the SBGW289 from Grand Seiko to arrive. It’s 36.5mm, perfect unisex option for my daughter and for me in the meantime. Great choice with the Rolex and congratulations again!

And congratulations on your first addition! The first 2 months are tough, but you are inching into the fun part. Fantastic choice on the SBGW289. I thought that was a gorgeous release, and it is a great unisex option. Really, really tasteful.

I bought a DateJust also with the same idea of passing it on. Problem is I can't bring myself to let go of it and the son it was intended for is well into his 20's but has no interest in watches, so I will wear it. When and if he decides he wants it I can... 

If you don't mind me asking, how often did you wear that DJ? Was it a daily? Or did you save it for special occasions? I always wonder how much I should wear a watch that is supposed to be for someone else. With your son, did you try to engender an apprec... 

and about the same in vintage pieces. I wear it when the mood strikes. It goes with everything from casual to dress occasions. I'm pretty anal about my watches and take extremely good care of them, not even a scratch on the DJ. I probably go overboard in ...
