Hello ESE2A!! Great post and photographs!! But...

... why do you hate the 14060M?

I´m a declared Submariner fan, and love it in all its versions, vintage and modern (though I must confess a bit biassed for the vintage ones!).

I got the two you show, but I never could really fell in love with the big DSSD, and gave it mint in the box, as a present to my son, after two years of owning it, as I never could get accustomed to wear on my wrist. (It still had the transparent stickers on it!).

For daily use, and for sport scuba diving, I find the "regular" Submariner, all what you need from a tough sport watch.

The 14060M is the version which still keeps the original concept dial, and I like more the old non COSC version with its clean dial with little inscriptions. I do not pay attention to the date feature in my watches, so date or non date, is no issue for me.

So answering to your post question, I will choose the Submariner (date or non date) over the DSSD, though I well understand this is just a very personal point of view.

Enjoy your beauties, and have a nice day!
Very cordially, Abel.
