Rolex

Hello Acw! Thank you for your comments and completely agree with you. As I explained in my post above I knew this watch came with the wrong bracelet...

... when I bought it as it is a reference 17013 from an Oyster Quartz TT model.
The correct one for my reference 1630 is bracelet 96673 as you well say with three gold rows.
I asumed my watch was from 1978 as per serial number 5.44x.xxx . As you know, it is in the limits of some tables that put it in 1977 while others in 1978.
I don´t feel it is a wrong case from an Oyster Quartz as it has the correct gold section embeded on the case. Also Quartz cases come with serial number and reference number engraved on the back of lugs, and my watch doesn´t have them and looks to have the original polish underneath.
Agree with you that being rare we collectors should approach them with care. I feel that in this watch the original owner had a problem with a broken original bracelet and took the road of putting a Quartz one which was the only available to him. I bought the watch knowing that the bracelet was not correct but being the model so rare I took the plunge anyway as I own three Oyster Quartz and thought this could be an interesting addition to the theme, in spite of the problem with its bracelet.
Thank you again for your kind comments and receive my best cordial regards, Abel.
