As you said 16518 have not skyrocketed yet...but since gold watches(especially Daytonas) are becoming more and more sought after prices will increase very soon as it happened for the 16528. The strapped version is definitely more elegant and understated than the full gold version.

In 20 years, when the flimsy bracelet/endlinks/clasp of the mass-produced 16520/16523/16528 will have loosened to such an extent as to become unwearable (many already are), the 16518/16519 will have stood alone the test of time, literally. ...
