Just earlier today, i was at the office and a client walked over and asked "hey, nice Rolex, but why didn't you get a larger one, since they have 40mm Submariners..." and stuff, and i just told him, look...an Explorer original size is this 36mm... it may appear small to him, but i cannot imagine any other size other than this 36mm which i adore...

There are several differences...
The 6610 always comes with a Swiss dial, which is not the case on the 1016. The 6610 has a lollipop second hand. The case is a bit smaller on the 6610 ( 1 mm less, but I have to check ). The movement of the 6610 is not hacking, while, on the 1016, it is h...

..1016 was improved with a hacking seconds and other features perhaps. So we can say 6610 is even rarer than 1016 but do you prefer the 1016 over the 6610?
