As a lifelong aviation history fan and aerospace engineering student, this is particularly heavy news. An incredible life worth celebrating.

This 2020 deserves us all to kick its ass to the moon (and NOT back)!

What a fascinating man and carreer.

I’m sure he is flying somewhere in the sky.

I had the immense pleasure of meeting with him twice. A remarkable man, a great pilot and a firm believer in democracy and freedom has left us. RIP

Twice he attended a graduation ceremony fir group of new fighter pilots where I was one of the instructor pilots.

I used to be an instructor pilot, later on became check pilot and thereafter started to teach new instructor pilots. Retired from the Airforce when I was 35, and thats a million years ago haha

Tried it at 35, didn’t work and joined a bank (thought it was mainly indoors and no heavy lifting ) Tried it again at 48 when I was done banking. Managed for a year then moved to dubai and started a company. Sold it in 2017 and after two years of earn out... 

The last time he broke the sound barrier was in 2012 - at the age of 89, this just about sums it up for me, he certainly had the right stuff ! ...
