Rolex

Having owned many Rolexes, I recently picked up a DJ 41... love it! It may be one of the most perfect sized, composed watches I have ever owned... But this is my first Rolex with these mirror-finish PCL's... (well, no I had a Daytona years ago... and a Mi... 

I think your reply is probably right... not a deep question, certainly... just a design element Rolex buyers swoon at... and who can blame them.

If you wore long sleeves all the time and had your arms on your lap while your chauffeur drove you about, or only had polished wood door frames and furniture, you wouldn't scratch your watch up OR wouldn't care when you did. That's why Rolex makes the bra... 

Is this watch expensive enough to assume a chauffeur?? Perhaps a platinum DD? But even then? Who has a chauffeur??? And by the way, not driving a car gives one more time to stare at watches... thereby discovering swirls... chuckle! Thanks for reply. Alway... 

I've owned my BLNR since 2017 and Milgauss since 2014 and no scratches on the center links. Not to argue the point but my polishing cloths don't scratch them either. Nothing stays new but scratched isn't, in my experience, inevitable.

This is not about whether scratches happen or don't. Or should we live with scratches or not... Please forget that. It's about--what do you imagine Rolex's intention was--when creating a surface so sensitive to even a microfiber's puffy soft touch--would ...

Just like Rolex though🤔, those are now kept in secret areas with the other special models 🙂

But I wanted 'the full Rolex experience' which for me, included date, fluted bezel, and upgraded movement...

so full Rolex experience for me ... is... I think the Dj represented for me--besides the iconic date and fluted bezel... actually the PCL's! The 'fancier' bracelet was part of the appeal... Which is ironic now, in light of the thread... I wanted a taste o... 

Or to suggest some Zen test of acceptance... which is how I'm taking it here in... it's a GREAT watch... so much to love... but the PCL's... well... a little different for me... perhaps I will put it on a strap eventually... or answer the zen riddle... wi... 

On your question, i think the quality of the finish probably trumps the scratch issue. The pcls sparkle where others would just shine. And its just silky smooth too. Thats probably what thry thought as well. Also, its easy enough to get buffed out at the ... 

I just have to get used to not being able to keep my watch 'perfect' which is my de rigeur... even years old watches are 95% ... hey maybe this is what MAKES IT (whether you like it or not!) an everyday watch chuckle... it can not be kept perfect even in ... 

Qualify as texture Otherwise, a few scratches, rather than many, will drive me crazy :p Hope you keep us updated on your pcl struggle, see if it really will drive you nuts :p

Over the past few weeks, I have become accustomed to the mild swirls... no way to prevent those... but once you get acquainted with them... and enjoy the character the PCL's undeniably and wonderfully contribute to the bracelet and watch itself... and how... 

Either that or a 2tone bluesy.. wishlist for now but who knows when i get bitten by the crazy bug :p

To my mind it‘s bringing more elegance to the watch. The all-sporty ones have the brushed links, the more elegant, dressier ones have the polished center links. A bit mor shiny and more elegant. Logical to me. And I like the polished links more than the b... 

Agree. It took a few weeks of wearing it. Agree completely. Yes after owning the DJ 41 for 6-8 weeks now, and really wearing it, I see the intention in the PCL's... they can be perceived as 'dressier' but equally can be viewed as not necessarily dressy at...
