After wanting it for a long time, I finally managed to acquire my dream watch, the 116518 (Pikachu dial). Unfortunately, wearing it turned into a nightmare. I kept getting the same marks shown in the picture, and it was genuinely uncomfortable—sometimes even painful.
I tried every possible size combination and micro-adjustment, but those fins kept digging in. I didn’t want to switch to a leather strap because the Oysterflex suits this dial perfectly. I was close to selling the watch and giving up on it altogether until I took the risk of cutting the fins—and it worked.
Now the watch is genuinely comfortable to wear and actually fits better and more snugly. Also, whenever I need to service it, I can simply refit two spare straps (from all the sizing trials) that still have the fins, so Rolex can’t raise any issues. I just wanted to share this in case it helps someone else in the same situation.
