one is not having as much hype as other SS watches with blue dial? The case is sublime, sunburst blue dial with red accents to die for, perfect size, robust movement (the most precise I ever had, compared to other chronometers) and a remarkable Platinum b...  

The price is so much more than a submariner and the bezel Is platinum and scratches easy. I forget but the claps is not the same a sub right? Personally I like this watch.

... platinum is 4.0-4.5, the same as steel* and doesn't scratch particularly easily. The Y-M shares the same clasp (and depth rating!) as the Sub, but has a unique case that is - in Jocke's and my opinions - more comfortable. His photo essay is very revea... 

Bezel scratches but not easily and the design makes it difficult to notice if there are any scratches, as for the clasp the new one is excellent together with integrated extension link as in the photos ...  

The blue Yacht Master is by far my favorite summer watch, may be besides the AP Diver Chrono in blue 😎👍🏻

..though I may regret the conversation I would have to have with my wife for buying another watch :/ Btw... Would there be any reason to lean towards the older reference 16622 vs. the newer 116622? Main difference I see is the clasp. I would like to hear ...

116622 is the newer model. Primary difference from what I see is the clasp (116622 has micro-adjust), but otherwise virtually identical

I tried searching 16222 in the web! Silly me 🤣

but I feel many customers are confused with a tool watch meant to be used in watersports with such a modest water resistance. Moreover the YM ends up competing with Subs and SDs and I believe dealers tend to advice those to clients as better value holders... 

Even it being more expensive, I liked much better its case, look at it from the side, the curves are sublime, ...

My favorite version is the original grey dial Ref 16222, love the grainy quality and the stealthy look. Your blue-dialed one is a nice and special specimen. Wear it with pleasure, best on your yacht. Daniel

Hopefully one day I will be able to wear it on “my” yacht, maybe if I stop spending on watches .

many congrats for this fantastic looking, versatile and - for me - timeless YM! Forget the market. Too often this market is simply ... stupid and bare marketing driven. Many buyers are oriented to what might be a “good value” in the future and forget to .... 

its just costly. my fav sushi restaurant in sf ca owner has a matching his and her for their retirement gift from their son. absolutely gorgeous!!
