It’s nice that the milling in the back is intact. Sometimes accidents happen. I think of this watch as my 1940’s car.
It was made the same year as the Tucker 48, aka Tucker Torpedo. It’s a very sad and infuriating story. There’s a movie about it called Tucker, the man and his dream.
By the way, 14kt, not 18.

Of the watches from that period my other favorite is the first run of the pre datejust ovettone. I had a chance to buy one with a gorgeous dial in 9k and for the life of me don’t know why I looked down on 9k. Temporary insanity?
