A tale of two cases - part 2 - Cased in Time
In search of a small, lightweight travel case I came across Cased in Time from the UK. The make a clamshell case from what seems like reinforced cordura/nylon.
The case is of a clever and simple design. It looks like a donut with one taller side which accommodates the watch head. Cased in Time do these cases in a few colours. My preference was for “Rolex” green. There is no Tiffany blue just yet!
In the middle of the lid and base of the case is a raised section which stops the bracelet hitting the back of the watch in transit. The case can handle small, medium and large size watches and it works equally well with watches on a strap.
The case is smaller than a typical 1 watch leather case.
If you are looking for a small, robust and lightweight travel case that you can ‘throw’ into your backpack or briefcase and not worry about then this is a good option.

It’s not a solution for transporting a collection, but for one or two watches when travelling for business or a holiday it’s ideal.

I was given a dark grey version, works very well for an individual watch. The plus is that it doesn’t look like a traditional watch case. Stealthy !

Yes, you are right about it not looking like a watch case. I bought my wife the grey one for her datejust but she ended up using it to store a bracelet for most of the time on a recent holiday.

These work super well for individual watches...
... I have a bunch of the old Oakley Watch Vault cases, which were the same case in black tactical cordura/nylon. Unfortunately they don't make them anymore, but they used to make them in 2 sizes.

I like Oakley sport sunglasses a lot but I never knew they made watch cases.

The Oakleys were excellent , but apparently they’re not made anymore. I still have one of them… very tough, and excellent for travel. Fortunately there are others on Amazon as well, which have similar designs, and come in attractive colors like brown, or ...
Haven’t tried all of them…
… but some of the other cases are not as good. A couple I have bought had exposed zips on the inside, which could scratch the watch. The Oakleys were fantastic and had a soft covering for every metal part.
I've been using a black version of these for some time and they are excellent. Small with good protection. Works well for watches on a strap or bracelet . The depression in the top prevents
bracelets from folding in and scratching the watch... or itself.
Pretty cool case and style
A friend of mine is starting out with his own brand in that space as well, and, after having tested it on a few trips, I can vouch that they pretty cool and comfortable. Cheers, Alex ...
