Rolex

A couple of thoughts after 10 days on the wrist.

I had the white and black dial predecessors of 116500LN but sold them together with my other Rolex’s when I dove into brands like AP and ultimately PP. I didn’t want to buy any Rolex’s anymore but made an exception for the stainless steel Sky-Dweller blue dial for the combination of steel watch, interesting movement and complications as well as beautiful blue sunburst dial. The appeal of the Sky-Dweller is really great and the watch keeps time more accurately than any AP or PP I own (including PP 5235G which is supposed to be very accurate); the only drawbacks of this watch are the thickness of its case and its weight). This experience made me more open-minded vis-à-vis Rolex again. Thus, I asked my AD early November to get me a 116500LN and after 10 days on the wrist, I have to say that it’s a stunning watch in so many respects. The case proportions are great: 40mm diameter but wears a little bit smaller than that; thickness for an automatic chrono is perfect. The contrast of the white dial and the black sub-dials and bezel is awesome. It’s a really elegant and dressy sports watch. And guess what? The accuracy is excellent too. In a nutshell: I love it. Best, Volker
