A bakelite bezel for the 6542.
Ok, this one is aftermarket, which is obvious if you pay attention to the shape of the numbers on it.
But the outcome is really pleasant, in my opinion.
It gives a warmer look, and enhances the Vintage character of this very nice no crown guard GMT.
The other surprise is that the insert glows in the dark...

Red starts to look like old wine..
.... while the blue is starting to look like clear blue sky About the insert still glowing, i am very surprised, are you really sure about it... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but in this case maybe "glowing is in the eye of the beholder" ... Lol.....
I was not sure that what I saw was reality, Zoro...
After the GTG and several beers, I was not too confident about my capacities, so I preferred to let people check for me, and they confirmed me that the insert was indeed glowing! Now, it looks like a totally different watch. Best, Nicolas.

Nic, that bezel is quite scary... it would fool many..

...and Dr Strong. A naive sounding question: Why are these things called Bakelite? Was Bakelite ever used for bezel production? Or is it just a misnomer for acrylic? As for the watch...not 100% convinced...perhaps it's just the photos but the numbers look...

Reasons.
1) you're enjoying the watch more with the new bezel 2) original 'bakelite' bezels are unobtanium... 3) the watch is able to be returned to original state. 4) it looks great Where is this dilemma?
