is generally nothing to do with value of underlying item...
I have been to plenty of silly charity auctions... one where buyer bought a pair of shoe laces for usd 25k... what matters is that the money goes towards a good cause. tax write-off or not does not really matter either in my opinion...

But sorry I don’t have the output. Some here may. But I think tax reductions depend on where you live. I don’t know if one can claim for one. Anyway, the prices fetched for most of the pieces are just insanes. But this is for a good cause so why not?
