Pleased to see that the new caliber 3285 ...

... will obviously feature ball bearings for the rotor!

But it is hard to conclude from the RLX-homepage, whether the all black and batman steel GMTs will also be equipped with the new cal. 3285. Could they be not?

Rolex GMT MASTER 2018.

 By: amanico : March 21st, 2018-04:18
Here it is: 40 mm steel case. But this bracelet...Damn, would it be possible to change it for an Oyster? There is also a very nice Gold version... On a gold oyster bracelet! To be discovered! Best, Nicolas 2018 Rolex GMT master ...

Yes

Always liked them a lot.

My second Rolex was a GMT. I flipped it. And now I came back to the 1675. But that broke down 😒. So maybe I need a modern tool version?

Of course!

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : March 21st, 2018-08:53
That one will have get restored asap! Because I miss it already.

I’m sure you will be very happy if you buy the steel oyster bracelet.

 By: ChristianDK : March 21st, 2018-04:40
you might as well sign on the list. 👹

you are Master GMT :-) [nt]

It doesn't seem so. [nt]

A buy for me.

 By: willski : March 21st, 2018-06:04
Demand is likely to be off the charts but this and the Tudor are super nice.

I like the bracelet but I wouldn't buy it on principle because it's a screw job to those who bought the white gold version.

 By: descartes1 : March 21st, 2018-07:07
I'd be furious. Rolex never does this with their PM pieces (offer same watch, same dial in steel). I'm shocked they did. Pure money grab. They should done the Coke.

+1...agreed, shame on Rolex.

 By: vitalsigns : March 21st, 2018-07:24
I suspect that they thought the jubilee bracelet was distinctive enough to differentiate the two, but I disagree. Cheers, John

Well...

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : March 21st, 2018-08:57
the GMT with black dial is in steel and yellow gold. the Submariner Black dial is available in steel and yellow gold the Skydweller first came in gold only and now also in steel

Why not the coke when Tudor also does the pepsi?

 By: S F : March 21st, 2018-08:16
And If I want a gmt on a jubilee, I would go vintage. A nice rendition of the classic pepsi, bit old and new stuff. I like GMTM but somehow I don’t feel a strong urge to get this for now. I also need to read up a bit more on what is “oyster steel”.

Maybe the coke insert will follow next year? Or year after that?

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : March 21st, 2018-08:58
Or maybe they will introduce a Coke in white gold first! LOL

A mess... [nt]

It seems beautiful...

 By: FlyingSnoopy : March 21st, 2018-10:40
and personally I like the jubilee- a vintage twist in my opinion as several vintage piece sport this bracelet. The question is why did Rolex chose to release it. The owners of the wg must feel “cheated”.

Also...

 By: FlyingSnoopy : March 21st, 2018-10:54
Rolex claimed that it was too expensive to make the two colour bezel for an ss watch and that’s why 5hey made a wg one a couple years ago..

Called some Rolex ADs already

 By: Joepny : March 21st, 2018-11:06
First, so I want to call this new GMT reference the "Superman". What does everyone think? We already have the Batman and the Hulk so why don't we continue the comics theme. It really is a toy for us big boys. Secondly, I tried to put my name down with a f...

Hehe...yes...first world problems

 By: Joepny : March 21st, 2018-11:52
I need to get modern Rolex off my list so I guess I will keep bothering AD #2 for the next few years and see if I can move up their list. This is really because vintage Rolex is too risky for me to dip into and I can never win a bid on a modern 116520 Day...

It's a long-term project for sure

 By: Joepny : March 21st, 2018-12:09
I think the Datograph and the 5960A are higher on my list right now.

Certainly diplomacy is important, but I'm not sure that #3 is in reality any different from #1 and #2.

 By: vitalsigns : March 21st, 2018-11:59
#1 likely has the same attitude as #3, but was more diplomatic (however, you asked the question directly of #3. If asked of #1, perhaps the answer would have been the same). #2 didn't give anything other than diplomacy (their list could be ever changing; ...

Well, I think we can rely on Rule A: all (nearly all) dealers are the same, as economics and self-interest are universal, but dealers convey the message quite differently from one another.

Agree, just some subtleties in customer service at the end of the day

 By: Joepny : March 21st, 2018-12:03
I still enjoy the velvet touch though, even if it is to let a fool like me down gently.

You needed to have asked before launch too...... but the deck is stacked against straight up newbs

By: Velociphile - No longer in the building : March 21st, 2018-12:03
yes it's all a very annoying world of track record (I'm on my 4th Rolex with the same dealer over more than a decade......and yes, I'm 'on the list', but under no illusion I can whistle..... i.e. will still get bumped by 'VIPs') This whole situation is re...

Maybe they don't raise RRP hugely because it is the golden goose of the watch industry?

 By: Joepny : March 21st, 2018-12:17
I guess they are happy to do the smaller price increases and let it accumulate over time.

thanks! 👍

 By: Joepny : March 23rd, 2018-14:49
I might make some more calls later. I stopped at 3 ADs because I had to get back to work. And then I lost the initial enthusiasm. If the enthusiasm comes back, then I know the GMT will be worth a hunt.

Thats a great plan, when I initially called for my Daytona I called each and every AD in Canada except the one in my city

 By: Rogi : March 23rd, 2018-18:58
And the AD in my city had one 😂 The other AD’s reactions were very similar to what you experienced, from poilte to laughing to betting me money I won’t find one. Its all down to the sales rep and a bit of luck, Good Luck on your GMT hunt

I´m very happy with this introduction Nicolas. It is exactly what I was waiting to finally own a Ceramic GMT!...

... regarding bracelet, I am also fond of Oyster type, but I have to recognize that the Jubilee is very comfortable and it was in the vintage GMT the only watches I really liked the looks of this combo. So I personaly dont´t mind about having a Jubilee in...

I'm in.

I love it. Jubilee and all. What’s not to love? And at a time when fans are begging for quality and authenticity and reasonable pricing Rolex delivers yet again. As for the WG owners, perhaps that’s why Rolex is offerings the SS on a Jubilee — to distingu...

Am I the only one who thinks these maxi-cases and maxi-hands are maxi-inelegant, bloated and wholly unappealing? If not, why has Rolex slowly been reworking the cases of the...

DeepSea, SeaDweller, etc to correct the case lug to bracelet bulky disproportionate appearance? Sadly, they haven't changed the fat hands. And they still have the same issues with the Submariner. The Tudor GMT is a winner. But who I am? As everyone commen...

I don’t like the maxi cases either.

 By: vitalsigns : March 21st, 2018-20:26
Square and not sensual. They did right to keep the Daytona curvaceous.

Looking at pics of old 1675s with jubilee bracelets..

 By: Echi : March 21st, 2018-22:45
I think it worked better on the old GMT because the size of the center links was somehow proportional to the font and size of the numbers around the bezel.. not to mention the round indices.. Having said that, I'm in the majority who prefer oysters on ave...

I like it a real lot !!.. Something in my mid-term visor, I am pretty devastated.. And BTW

 By: hs111 : March 23rd, 2018-12:50
.. I nevertheless also like the Jubilee bracelet. Hmmhh.. Food for thoughts of 2018.. Best, hs PS: but of course, I’ll keep my 1675 !
