Roger Dubuis is so very different today
willski,
Thanks for the LIVE report of both cars and watches.
Roger Dubuis is so very different today even from the last time I saw the timepieces at the first 'Watches & Wonders' in Hong Kong, let alone when the current Mrs MTF and I used to collect them as matching His & Hers dial designs (c. 2000-2002).
In the early days, we had different case shapes, usually rectangular, in horizontal or vertical orientation - TooMuch and MuchMore - or Golden Square but always with the same dial colour combinations. They issued every variation in limited editions of 28 pieces so it became a game to try to get your favourite series number AND still match the dials on different case sizes with the same colour case (rose gold for us).
I can still see glimmers of the original motifs in the Roman numerals on today's watch dials.
The quality and reliability today is far better.
More evidence that Roger Dubuis is different today is that you would not have expected them to be mentioned in the same sentence with the words "Pirelli" and "Lamborghini".
Regards,
MTF
