Roger Dubuis

A personal favorite: the RD Sympathie S34 in rose gold, one of twenty-eight, ca. mid-1990s to turn of the 21st century. (I have the date of production somewhere in the handwritten papers, but I'm too lazy to dig it up right now.) ...  

Such a unique case shape and refined dial. And it's an observatory watch! Any photo of the movement? Is it hand-wound by any chance (I doubt it, unfortunately)? Best, Emmanuel

Nonetheless, the shaped crystal must have been a bear to produce, and I quail at what would happen if I damaged it. Replacement seems unlikely.

As for cost, well.... ummm....

It would be nice if Roger Dubuis had some back stock of hidden somewhere in its manufacture vaults. ;-)

All I can say is that one of these days I will have one. Actually I was excited about five or six years ago to have been offered one in white gold with a black dial, but the condition stated was not (at least in my book) what it was, so I returned it. I'm... 

Getting neo-vintage pieces like this in decent condition can sure be tough. I actually obtained a white gold, black dial S37 in good condition for my wife recently, but things like this come up once in a blue moon. I hope you'll eventually get lucky and f... 

Looking at this photo, I realize I prefer the proportions of the S34's smaller dial. Not as noticeable in the metal. ...
