This is an old abandoned copper mine in Quincy, in the Upper Peninsular of Michigan. In the 1800’s it made everyone rich until buyers of copper found cheaper sources. When it was successful miners came from all over Europe, from Italy to Cornwall to Germany and Finland. Sadly history can be brutal and the copper mining industry moved on without any sense of emotion or nostalgia.

It seems as though the machines have been placed deliberately rather than just dumped in the field. Regards Kev.
