It’s more than a tree. The story and history behind it, the spiritual meaning of it or the spiritual emotions it can generate.
Almost too much to capture in a photograph yet if I look at the last two pictures and recall the background, I can almost feel it.

Thanks Casey. Such reverence comes naturally when you stand before a Gingko tree. My memorable Gingko stands at the courtyard of the Nishi Hongwanji temple in Kyoto.

Is t this Great how through this forum we all get to see and learn so much from other parts of the world? Things we would never read in a book or learn from a tour guide But things we can only learn from people who actually live in that place

How can something so old still be alive? Never mind how beautiful this tree is. Your second photo is sublime. Trunk and leaves in and out of focus. This is what I try to capture, with little success, every time I photograph nature.

According to Wikipedia... ginkgoales has a Temporal range of 270-0 Ma (mega-annum - a million years), starting in the Permian geologic period, which predates the Triassic and Jurassic periods... fascinating...
