“Do you dance?”

I’ve watched this movie so many times.

The well-curated soundtrack.

The signature gunfights with loud deep booms reminiscent of Heat.

The one-upmanship in dialogs.

Organic directing and cinematography as opposed to, say, a Wes Anderson or Coen brothers movie.

That second still shot of yours, probably one of my favorites. The music segues from Arranca to something slower in this frame. Great editing. One can almost miss it.

This movie is all about “feels”.

I’m with you with your statement, “highest form of cinematic expression”.

This is not an easy film to make. I think one has to be on their artistic toes all the time to direct something like this because one needs to read the waves so to speak to come up with these frames. And that can be very exhausting. Sure you have storyboards but probably just to establish some key idea and then everybody runs with the moment on most frames. It’s definitely a very spontaneuos way of moviemaking.

What can I say... he’s the Mann smile

Thanks for sharing!

Best, Echi
