It's a hard choice between my 3970 and the 2499.
Especially the second series 3970R. An absolutely gorgeous watch often overlooked and undervalued by collectors. The resemblance to the 2499 is amazing. I often wonder how much the 3970 second series would be if they had made just a handful. No other watch feels more like true Patek Philippe than a 3970. Trust me.

To me, an early (1st or 2nd series) 3970 or 3971 is the most beautiful, iconic complicated PP ever made.

look at the 5020 and you have an answer 5020 is rare and expensive but it's nothing more than a 3970 in another case 3970 must be the most cheap complicated Patek available, if they made it in the size I prefer I would go for it but I can't give that much...

Thanks for sharing with us such iconic pieces. As someone earlier mentioned the 3970 2nd series gives us ordinary folk a chance to own something so special yet doesn't cost our entire fortune.
