size question 5165 Vs. 5167
dear all, we all know that the 5165 is 38mm and the 5167 is 40mm.
if you take a close look at patek's website however, you can clearly see that:
1. the 5165 is 38mm excluding the crown (in essence the diameter of the bezel)
2. the 5167 is 40mm including apprx 2/3 of the crown
so my question is what are the real measurements and from which points for each watch 'cause if the graphic on their site is to be believed then the watches' size difference is potentially less than the 2mm advertised.
any help would be greatly appreciated as i am about to put in an order.
for the record, my wrist size is 7inches (18cm)
thank you

I have a 5167 and a friend of mine has a 5165. You can clearly see the difference in size between the two watches: you would not confuse one for the other. The website is clearly wrong. Patek measures its watches the same way so what you see on the websit...

I agree on this, there is a substantial difference between the two and it's all about personal preference. Im happy with my 5165 but I'd rather have a 5167 and only bought the 38mm beacuse I got it at a good price and the timing was right. Make sure you t...

I was in exactly the same situation and decided to do what our mutual friend suggested (i.e. see the watch and try it on before you make a final decision). I had all but decided on a 5165 - until I saw them together at the same time and went for the 5167....

trying before i buy. I was really dissapointed with the 5165 as it felt to small on my 7 inch wrist.i quickly sold it and only re purchased the 5167 at the begining of the year. Theres a noticable difference in size and the dial colour is far nicer as wel...
