Will Patek discontinue the 5270P next year or keep making it as long as it sells?
Seems the 5270P has been the subject of some discussion here recently. This has been a good selling watch in Patek's catalog for the past three years and it's one of their more expensive models. I wonder if they are concerned with saturating the market by keeping this in the catalog for years or will they discontinue it. What do my fellow purists have to say?

AD told me this is likely the last year
They may have been pushing me to order it, but I doubt that was the case.
Discontinued next year
The release of the 5270J portend discontinuation of the previous model which is the 5270P. The J will be the last series of the 5270s and I can see Patek using the 5236 movement and incorporate chrono into it to produce a new PCC series. BTW … great pics ...
Can’t see them using the 5236 as a base!
Adding a chrono module would be too tricky, it would need to sit under the base movement and a chrono needs to be integrated. I would also argue at this level it needs to be a manual wind.

If the basic caliber of 5236 is used it would be a real shame .... we would lose an essential feature of the history of perpetual calendars with chrono ... the manual winding. History would end from 1518 until today ... The only positive note would be tha...
I keep coming back to look at the picture.
While I can afford this right now, it doesn’t make much financial sense. I see myself paying through the nose in 10 years for a used piece. Wear it in good health, it’s gorgeous.
