What happened to me!
Am I an unlucky person? :-(
I bought 5980 in June last year. Wearing it for one week and then this sxxt happened.
My AD sent it to fix in Singapore for two weeks. The watch came back fine, but nearly two weeks wearing this sxxt happened again. This time it was sent to Geneva for repair............
................... six months passed by and I couldn't wait anymore. I bought 5980 new and was able to wear it not even one-month time. I complained a lot to my AD and finally my AD could fight for a new watch to replace. I got a brand new 5980 (again) in April.
I wore it almost everyday since April. Until the end of April ... I was doomed again. I noticed that the watch stopped ticking around 8 to 9 p.m. when I put my watch on my wrist in the morning (7 a.m.). Rushing to my AD and left my watch overnight there. OK! My watch was dead. It seemed that the rotor couldn't inject the power into the watch. I had to say bye bye to my 5980 again for its trip to Geneva. So what should I ask Patek for : 1) a brand new 5980 (again?) or 2) money back. Only one thing I know now is my love with Patek is going down to the zero on the scale.

Hi Vilit, forget the so called "sporty watches" from Patek - take a vintage one and you will be happy with Patek for the rest of your life I have an "antimagnetic" from the 60ies and it keeps time within one second per day! kind regards Erich
