Well, I exclude rarity, because it doesn't really matter for me, the character of the watch is more important to me. And the addition of strength of the black dial pleases me a bit more, as well as the density of the platinum case.

Each and every iteration of 5970 is great : G is the most versatile, J is the rarest (if you except the salmon dial one of course), P is the one recognized my many collectors as the grail, but R is the most beautiful from all. Obviously you can’t make a m...

Having been fortunate enough to own P,G and R and putting a J on my wrist on several occasions for me the R is beautiful and so very classic Patek even more so than the J. For me that is. M.
I also prefer the RG version.

Still I‘m most attracted to the P, then the G. Your beautiful salmon version not being part of the contest, for obvious reasons.
Of complicated, regular production Pateks from the “modern era” (which for me begins with 3940/3970), 5970P is my clear favorite.
If I were to include application pieces my absolute favorite would be 5016P, a watch which I can only enjoy in my mind. ...

I think any 5970 would be sort of an end game piece for some collectors, including myself. For proportions wise I like the 3970 a bit more...but the 5970 is undeniably a “blue chip” Patek reference... (wiping my drool off the keyboard as I type). Best Gat...
