I'm not saying all people who work in retail treat it as a temporary job, absolutely not, but many are just unaware. This particular salesperson that I have in mind has been at a major jeweler for dozens of year and has been in the high-end luxury retail business for a long long time. But there are just some aspects he does not care about and is totally oblivious to. It's very sad, so very sad indeed.
