Oops.. Do you read your owner’s manual?
I was just trying to adjust the date on my 5235.. I press the wrong push piece and switched the month.. so I for the first time ever I went online to read the owner manual which I thought I know everything through my ownership experience.. boy am I wrong!
P/S: I highlighted the steps in red box.
It clearly stated that the steps should be followed through strictly.. hmmm .. now I am wondering how much damage have I done to my watch so far.. 🤔

So far my watch is keeping perfect timing so I shouldn’t be too worried. However, I will certainly change my habit and adhere to the factory’s advice.

Haha you are right! I am guilty of that too! Toothpick is so convenient easy to use. I never use the stylus. BTW.. I always thought the stylus are just gold plated? True or false? 😅
I should check this, but my assumption would be that they are the same metal as the case (hence, for your Patek, in real (!) grey gold ;-)

Interesting.. indeed.. I can’t see any hallmark to confirm it is solid 18K hence I doubt and assume they are just gold plating or vermeil.

I guess they charge much because of the exotic material. Just like on any ceramic watch lol.
The wood is polished by hand in the Swiss style using a kind of paper, if you can believe it!

OK, I did my homework as your mod and it seems reasonably safe to say your stylus IS real gold ;-)
I can no longer find any material specific to your 5235G, but I just checked the info I was given for the 5270J, which includes the sentence:
"Delivered with correction stylus in ebony and 18K yellow gold." (Not including the whole document since it's not public.)

Even without this, my assumption was that your (and every other) stylus was real gold...so this appears to confirm it with a reasonable degree of certainty ;-) Cheers.

I always poke randomly only thing I make sure i set the time first to 12 noon. 😬
I could have already done some damages to the movement. Well they can fix it on the next service 😉
6 AM is a golden rule in watchmaking
No harm can be done at 6 AM and it is true for all complications as far as I know. For my calendar, I usually follow the instruction with a twist: I set it to the first day of the previous month, then I just advance the date going through the end of the previous month into the current month, that way I know it is correctly synchronized.

As for myself I always set the date a day before and I will adjust the time pass midnight to sure all flip over to the correct today’s date..

Not many Patek dealer employees have read the manual. I always tell them, I'll set the watch myself, thank you.

For me, I specially dislike the later non screw bracelet for nautilus.. I can’t stand seeing my dealer hammering the pins off the bracelet especially when they are new agents and are sloppy due to lack of confidence and experience. Worse if your nautilus is one of those heavy pieces such as 5980/1R
