Timing is everything!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-07:30
I am in the UK to attend my sister's wedding and was pleasantly surprised when my UK AD informed me that my 5212A had arrived. It was scheduled for December but lately Patek have been late at delivering many of its watches. I love the patina on the dial w...
That is good to know!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-07:57
Congratulations on yours! I think the UK market just received its allocation!
Congrats Sham ! The 5212 looks...
By: GLau : December 19th, 2019-07:45
fitting on your small wrist ! Congratulations to your sister as well ! Was 5212 the watch you wore to the wedding ?
The wedding is on Sunday
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-08:03
and I just paid for the watch a few hours ago. But as I shall be reclaiming the tax back on the watch, my dealer will be sending the watch to Heathrow Airport via a courier company where I collect the watch at the VAT desk after I pass through security. T...
Congratulations!

Didn’t know you had your eye on this, but it is a really nice one. Very practical as well.
My only watch currently with a date!! :-)
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-08:05
But it had to be this way because another dial for the date would make it too cluttered and confusing to read. Next GTG, I shall bring it with me Thanks Richard!
Congratulations to both...

That 5212 is the best Christmas present 🎁 Hope to see more wrist shots!
Until I get my own, not enough :)
By: Clueless_Collector : December 19th, 2019-09:18
I prefer photos under different light scenario and in the wild, and movement shots, owners reviews and setting the watch etc etc etc Not a lot to ask for right? Lol...enjoy and as I always say, buying from Europe or UK is best with the VAT refund, unless ...
Thank you very much for the good wishes!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-11:04
According to my AD, Patek will only be producing the 5212A in limited numbers which in a way is a pity because this watch can attract a lot of young people to the brand. Then again, apparently Patek intends to reduce its production next year which may res...
Congratulation Sham!

Such a great unexpected move from PP. well done PP and well done you! I love that watch!
Thank you for your kind words!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-11:06
This watch would have been attractive in any metal but making it only in steel has made it an instant classic in my opinion.
Thank you for saying so!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-11:18
I think Patek's choice of the tan calf strap has added character to the watch and made it cool!
Fantastic timepiece
By: Watch_kha_wen : December 19th, 2019-09:43
Can’t say more this is just super amazing. It’s complication is gorgeous. Did not know you were after that one too hehe. Did you manage to get the pilot in blue dial too? Kev
Thanks Kev!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-11:22
I have no idea if I have been allocated a 7234A because Patek South East Asia are not exactly informing the ADs who have been successful in their application. I wish I knew so I can direct the funds to other 'projects'! ...
That one is amazing
By: Watch_kha_wen : December 19th, 2019-13:00
I wish I could get one too but I have up as way too far from Asia anyway Truely hope you can get one my friend Kev
To be honest Kev
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-20:11
I would be most surprised if I was allocated one because I have not bought a new Patek in Malaysia since 1995 so I am not exactly a current customer. And it will be Patek South East Asia who will be making the decision rather than the ADs.
Congratulations Sham!
By: BMR : December 19th, 2019-10:31
It’s a beautiful piece that I think is a home-run from Patek. May you wear it in health and happiness!
Many thanks my friend!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-11:24
It was love at first sight when I first saw the watch in May and that was in a restaurant with less than satisfactory lighting. Today when I saw it again, it looked so much better!
I am quite sure of that!
By: BMR : December 19th, 2019-11:32
I was lucky to see one just last week, and it’s full of charm! Very happy for you, my friend, as I know you’ll enjoy it a lot.
Patek can seldom be accused of being creative
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-12:05
but I think in the 5212, they decided to show off their ingenuity. The watch would have sold like hot cakes even if it was in platinum so making it in steel was a master stroke.
Agreed!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-12:44
and thank you once again!
Thanks Nico!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-11:25
Another keeper I believe!
Thank you Mahesh!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-12:42
It will be one of my almost daily wear watches. The winding mechanism is especially smooth. It needs to be 40mm to remain legible!
wow
By: keks : December 19th, 2019-13:09
huge congrats on a lovely piece! I have yet to see this in person but looks amazing nevertheless. Looks great on your wrist, enjoy!
Thank you very much for your feedback!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-20:13
I must confess that this is the first ever 40mm watch that seems to fit my wrist. I thank Patek big time for producing this watch!
Love this reference!
By: NoH : December 19th, 2019-13:42
Wear it in good health. All the very best, Niall
Thanks Niall!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-20:15
I intend to make good use of the watch. I just have to figure out how to adjust it first!
Thank you my friend!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-20:16
Yes Patek really came through when it mattered. My dealer received only one piece this year so I am pleased and fortunate to have this beauty.
Unless of course

one wakes up one day and decides to sell one's entire collection to attain the holy grail!!
Your watches are obviously
By: sham1 : December 20th, 2019-13:15
a lot more alluring than mine1 But there are a few I must confess that will always stay with me. So bye bye 5078!
Congratulation Sham!
By: gcsk76 : December 19th, 2019-14:17
Happy for you, great timing thou. Sorry to miss you by a day.
Thanks my friend!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-20:25
I am happy we both received our Pateks within a week of each other.
Beautiful watch!
By: watch-er : December 19th, 2019-15:15
I also would love to see photos of your minute repeaters.
Wow, congratulations my friend
By: ChristianDK : December 19th, 2019-19:05
I love this piece. It is so cool and modern in a really nice and calm way. I think patek is touching upon something really original I. Thermos of style with this watch. How are you enjoying it so far?
Than you my friend for your comments!
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-20:32
It is always good to see Patek coming up with something fresh. This is what the watch community looks forward to and needs. For now, I have only worn the watch to have the photos taken because I can only collect the watch from the airport when I depart th...
I love independents
By: sham1 : December 19th, 2019-20:33
but this Patek is really a class act in my opinion. Thank you for your kind feedback!
Double congrats Sham!
By: 1WatchMan : December 19th, 2019-22:55
I did fall in love with the watch when I first tried it on, but it wasn't the right timing for me unfortunately Enjoy the wedding and Happy Holidays! ...
The industry needs more people like you!
By: sham1 : December 20th, 2019-02:26
I discriminate way too much after years of buying many watches that I liked and then later discovering they were not really for me.I have since figured out exactly which brands are really within my comfort zone and appeal to me in the long term. And they ...

who have made, let's say, not the wisest decisions in the past when it comes to watch acquisitions and are now allegedly wiser!

making mistakes is all part of the journey but we will also encounter some wonderful experiences along the way,
Very true!
By: BMR : December 20th, 2019-12:27
The people and the journey are the best parts. The watches aren’t so bad either 😉
Agreed!!
By: sham1 : December 20th, 2019-13:17
The people has been a huge bonus I must confess, many of whom are on this forum.
Was having a look at it again
By: Watch_kha_wen : December 20th, 2019-04:37
And just realised it’s 40mm but it still fits your wrist really well! They did a nice job with the lugs though. Enjoy it ! Kev
I came in May just to try the watch for size
By: sham1 : December 20th, 2019-04:50
as I was sceptical that it would fit my wrist especially as the not too dissimilar 40mm 5320 was a tad too large. The lugs as you correctly say did the trick and the busy dial also helped the wear watch smaller. It just shows how important lugs are. A 39....
Stunning
By: captainbob : December 20th, 2019-09:49
Hi there, I was at the same event as you back in May and placed an order too - watch looks great. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for next year. Enjoy this unique piece!
Super congratulations!!
By: Huei : December 20th, 2019-21:44
This is a new interpretation by PP which is so unique and special. Enjoy wearing this marvel in the best of health.
Very cool piece
By: jonnlee5711 : December 21st, 2019-00:52
Never seen it in the metal but looks great on you. Wear it in good health Sham. Bring it along for the next GTG if you are in town.
Well done too
By: sham1 : December 21st, 2019-01:26
on your great watch!
